Going up to the mountains and spending the whole day there
After a couple of hours of driving from the “To Journey” camping site, we arrived at Huangshan Mountains. Some difficulties in finding parking space as the RV needs additional height. Finally found a place behind some buildings. Later on, discovered they had a large parking area at the entrance.
Road trip in Huangshan Mountains
Purchased the tickets and bus fares. Easy done and took the bus to the mountains, about 15 minutes and we arrived at the cable cars. As usual plenty of stairs, and maybe we covered 10% of the area. What can you say about the view it was purely magnificent.
Huangshan (Chinese: 黄山), meaning the Yellow Mountain(s), is a mountain range in southern Anhui Province in eastern China. It was originally called “Yishan” and was renamed because of a legend that Emperor Xuanyuan once made alchemy here. Vegetation on the range is thickest below 1,100 meters (3,600 ft), with trees growing up to the treeline at 1,800 meters (5,900 ft).

The area is well known for its scenery, sunsets, peculiarly-shaped granite peaks, Huangshan pine trees, hot springs, winter snow, and views of the clouds from above. Huangshan is a frequent subject of traditional Chinese paintings, literature, and modern photography. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of China’s major tourist destinations.

Japanese sauna and relaxation nearby Huangshan City
After a long day in the mountains checked for nearby camping places. It seemed impossible, and boondocking was not a suitable option this time. Everybody was tired and in need of a good shower and dinner. I checked the GPS and found out that in a nearby city, there is a Japanese sauna. There are many of these in China, and it is a good place for relaxing. I decided to park in their parking lot and check in, which was the best decision on this trip. Hot springs, a sauna, massage chairs, movies, and kids played some video games. Dinner with some dishes, and we were ready at midnight to crawl back to the RV.

- The steps are easy to climb with spots for rest
- The cabin ride to the top
- The evening when boondocking at the Japanese sauna in near town
Need some improvement
