Leaving fast the Arxan camping as our daughter got sick and nearest hospital is two hours away. Decided for boondocking at empty hotel with other fellow travelers

Boondocking at Zhi Xing Hotel parking

We had a plan to stay at Jin camping for another night and take more photos of it. But at 05:00 morning my daughter started to heavily vomit and she got a fever going up. As there is no pharmacy or hospital in the village (2h drive to the nearest) so we decided to leave the Jin Jiang Gou camping and head for the nearby town with a hospital. Don’t remember now what hospital we found on the mobile but needed to drive-thru Xincheng Residential District and Arxan town. We found a pharmacy but we could not buy any of the items recommended by the doctor as there are restrictions due to the Covid situation. Even basic medication for diarrhea needs to have a doctor’s prescription.

While driving thru Arxan suddenly on the right side, we saw many RVs and caravans parked and decided to make a u-turn to check it out. Maybe 30 RVs and caravans had made the camp at the empty Zhi Xing Hotel (Zhixing Grand Hotel) parking lot and we decided to stay for a short period. After some consultation by mobile with our insurance medical assistance, we decided to stay put and wait to see. We had some medication with Probiotics and fever-lowering + a lot to drink. If getting worse no matter what, we will head for the hospital. Luckily the vomiting and fever settled and she started to feel well. I think it must have been some sort of food poisoning. When traveling we always have a couple of first aid kits and a big box of basic medicine with us. Luckily the fever went down and the vomiting stopped.

This was a great community. Everybody shared their ideas and also show some innovative upgrades to their cars. Almost all caravans were imported ones and you can see the difference in design and quality. Of course, there is also a difference in price.
