Arrival in Dalian and search for an RV campsite
We arrived early morning in Dalian and started the search for a suitable campsite. No good information is available, and this is a significant issue, and no information is available.
Xinghaiwan RV Camp – closed as of July 2021
The problem in China is that there are no whole China maps available for camping sites and the app we are using has the limitation of a max 200km distance from where you are. It was somehow hit-and-miss. Unfortunately, the first one is closed for some reason, and it was a pity as the location was excellent. Close to the city center at Xinhai Park area called Xinghaiwan RV Camp.
Even though this was close to the city and very close to the fun park, the fact that it’s closed. It was a pity as it would have been a perfect spot.
Xinhai Amusement Park is located at the beach close to Xinghaiwan RV Camp.
Visited the small amusement park at the pier. Underground they have a giant aquarium and an amusement park at ground level. Small but friendly and worthy of visiting, there was more to see, like the beach and scenic spots. Closeby food street will open in the evening with many local delicatessens.
Yintai RV Camping Hotel is not recommended even for boon-docking
We continued the search for an RV camp and a suitable beach in Dalian, and the second one was also close to the seashore and had several fixed caravans but no space inside the camping area. They gave us space outside the parking lot and provided us electricity and water by extensions. As they did not have the right to use the parking lot, those who owned it later started asking us for additional money, meaning double costs. We decided that finding other options is now what we should prioritize. I got a hint from a friend that we should head for Golden Pebble beach.
Golden Pebble Beach got a hint from a friend that this is the place to go.
Found a stranded ship on the way to Golden Pebble Beach, which was in the middle of the road. Someone already has the swimming suit on and waiting for the beach eagerly.
Firstly, this RV camp and a suitable beach in Dalian are humongous. This is the map of locations in the area—so many places to choose from. We wanted to be as close to the beach as possible, as the girls had been looking to swim. So we turned the caravan toward the closest beach where we could stay. They had several static caravans and one slot for DIY travelers with electricity and water.
Links to the location will be in the next post, and I don’t know the place’s name. The place was not mentioned in any apps or GPS, and the closest I could find was Gold Coast Western District Barbecue Restaurant. Several fixed caravans and one place for us with electricity and water.
